Why this service exists in Zephyrhills specifically

Zephyrhills counted about 17,000 residents in the 2020 census, and local reporting says the population roughly doubles from November through April. That difference is people living in RVs and park models. Local park operators count more than 150 senior and RV parks in and around the city. Palm View Gardens alone has more than 500 sites, Forest Lake Village has 274, Glen Haven more than 215, and Zephyr Palms, Zephyr Colony, and The Oaks sit out on County Road 54 with a long tail of smaller 55+ parks between them. • Rooftop air conditioning: start capacitors, fan motors, mold-fouled evaporator coils, clogged condensate drains, surge-killed boards, and full AC unit replacements done at your site.
• Slide-outs: motors, rack-and-gear mechanisms, synchronization problems, and the seals and toppers that daily summer rain works on, fixed where the rig sits.
• Plumbing and water heaters: pumps, valves, lines, tank problems, and the water heater that will not light after a summer on the lot.
• Appliances and 12V: refrigerators, furnaces, batteries, converters, fuses, and lighting, covered under appliance repair.
• Generators: Onan and portable units that will not start after sitting with fuel in them, under generator repair.

What the climate does to a parked rig

Summers in Zephyrhills are long, hot, and wet. August averages 90 degrees by day and 70 at night, the muggy stretch runs May through November, and July alone drops more than six inches of rain. Dew points sit in the high 60s and low 70s, and humidity climbs past 90 percent most nights. A rig left on its lot from April to November, which is most of the rigs in the parks, spends six months in that.

The failure list that produces is predictable. Evaporator coils that never fully dry grow mold, so the first AC start in November smells like a basement. Sealant that cracked in the spring sun has had a full rainy season to leak. Batteries self-discharge and sulfate in the heat. Ethanol gasoline in a generator bowl draws moisture and turns to varnish. Wasps and mud daubers build in water heater burner tubes and furnace exhausts. And this stretch of Florida sits in the Tampa-to-Orlando corridor the lightning maps call Lightning Alley; Florida led the country in 2025 at 305 lightning events per square mile, and a strike near a park can take out a converter, an AC control board, and a fridge board in one afternoon. Hurricane season, June 1 to November 30, adds wind and debris on top. Hurricane Milton came ashore as a Category 3 near Siesta Key on the evening of October 9, 2024, spawned at least 46 tornadoes across Florida, and left more than 3 million customers without power; the awning and roof work from that storm was still going when the winter residents arrived a month later.

How a call actually runs

Intake. You give us year, make, and model; what is failing and when it started; and precisely where the rig is parked. In a park, that means the park name and lot number: office check-in, visitor passes, and quiet hours are daily logistics for a mobile tech, and good access info is the difference between a smooth visit and a wasted morning. In a storage lot, we need the gate hours and your row.

The call-out. The trip fee covers travel and the first diagnostic window. The truck arrives stocked with the parts that close most calls in one visit: fuses, lap sealant, capacitors, anode rods, water pumps, thermocouples.

Diagnosis before quote. The tech tests, meters, and inspects before naming a price. An AC that hums but will not start gets a capacitor test before anyone says “new unit.” A dead water heater gets its burner tube and thermocouple checked before anyone quotes $1,500. You get a written repair-versus-replace recommendation with numbers attached.

The work. Common failures get fixed on the spot. When a part must be special-ordered (and we will be honest, RV parts supply is slow; special orders can take days) we schedule the return visit before we leave.

The walkthrough. We function-test the repaired system with you watching (or on video if you are still up north), explain what was done in plain language, and flag anything else spotted along the way. Roof observations come with photos; most owners in the 55+ parks have not been on their own roof in years, and should not be.

We are not a dealer and not factory-authorized, which cuts both ways and you deserve both halves. The downside: we cannot perform manufacturer warranty work. If your component is still under warranty, check with the manufacturer before paying anyone; some reimburse independent repairs, many do not. The upside: we work on every brand, we answer the phone, we publish our prices, and we show up in days rather than weeks.

One more honest note. Ads in this market use the word “licensed” freely. Florida’s motor vehicle repair law requires shops, including mobile ones, to register with the state, but it expressly excludes anyone who works only on the coach portion of an RV, which is precisely what a house-side mobile tech does.
