The humidity list

Mold in the AC. A rig closed up between trips in this air grows mildew on the evaporator coil and in the ducts. The musty smell on the first start is that. It is a coil and drain-pan cleaning in the $200 to $450 range, not a new unit.

Fuel. Ethanol gasoline in a generator carburetor draws moisture out of humid air and varnishes the jets. A generator that ran in April and will not start in October is that, almost every time.

Lightning. This part of Florida between Tampa and Orlando carries more lightning than anywhere in the country, and a rig left plugged in at a storage lot or a driveway is exposed to every nearby strike through the pedestal. Converter, AC control board, and fridge board dying together is the signature. We test each, quote each in writing, and document for your insurer.
